Position Summary
Ukko is seeking an exceptional and experienced Program Leader with a strong scientific background and extensive program management and drug development experience to join as a full-time member of our team in Rehovot, Israel. The Program Leader will drive the advancement of Ukko’s lead allergy program through development and into clinical trials. The Program Leader will lead cross-functional teams, align internal and external stakeholders, and will be accountable for program execution in regard to meeting goals with excellence, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
Lead multiple therapeutic programs from preclinical development through Phase 2 studies
Drive milestone achievements and go/no-go decision-making to successful and timely execution
Integrate and align cross-functional development plans across internal and external stakeholders (e.g., CMC, Pre-clinical, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs) to achieve company goals on time and within budget
Track and control project activities; ensure coordination of activities between all stakeholders
Lead team members to identify critical path activities, resource constraints, risks, and conflicts that could impact the schedule, timelines, and costs
Present timely program status updates, including risk assessments, red flags, and trade-offs that may impact the project schedule, timelines, and budgets, and make recommendations to the company’s leadership to drive effective decision making
Engage external stakeholders to ensure the achievement of planned results. Work closely with the Project Manager (PMO) to create and maintain timelines and keep the team and management aware of any rate-limiting steps
Ensure the team has a high-quality risk management plan and that significant risks to the programs have planned mitigations
Coordinate and lead internal program meetings, including agenda setting and documentation of key discussion points, decisions, and action items. Ensure follow-up of action items.
Experience
5+ years of experience as a Program leader, including experience in clinical development and early-stage clinical trials, is required
A Ph.D. or Masters degree in a scientific or life sciences discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience in drug development projects
Proven experience in managing programs from development into clinical trials
Demonstrated excellence in cross-functional project leadership
Experience with biological drug development - a strong plus
Experience in the allergy field - a strong plus
Experience in CMC or in Pharmacology - a plus
Skills
Has excellent oral and written communication skills
Is exceptionally organized, detail and process-oriented
Excellence in program management, including scenario assessment, risk assessment, and contingency planning.
Excellent matrix leadership
Desire and ability to perform both at a strategic level as well as in a hands-on capacity
Has the ability to work independently while is also a strong team player
